Statement of Faith

We believe in God the Father, the Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth who creates us, male and female, in His image. 

 

We believe in God the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus’s life, death, resurrection, and ascension are real, historical events. And we believe that through Jesus’s death and resurrection, atonement is made for sins, and the promise of redemption and eternal life is extended to sinful humanity, of which all of us are a part. 

 

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who regenerates the heart of the believer and who comforts and guides all who trust in Jesus as their Savior.

 

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and completely trustworthy. We believe that its truth will endure forever and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 

 

We believe that salvation and eternal life are unearned gifts from God, which we receive through faith in Jesus Christ and not through our good works. We also believe that good works are the necessary fruit of our faith, and we offer ourselves for Christian service to this broken world as an expression of our love of God and neighbor. 

 

We affirm the confession of faith known as The Apostles’ Creed: 

 

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
